The Brussels West station PAD aims to outline the major planning strategies for the urban development of the Gare de l’Ouest Regional Interest Zone. Our team set-up the site in four areas, each of them having a different programmatic guideline: The two areas north of the Beekkant footbridge form a 3,5 ha park, the area south-west will host the Infrabel Academy while the area south-east will concentrate upon 45.000 m2 of housing.

The in total 13Ha railway wasteland opens up to public in a transitional way. It started by the 'Molenwest' project next to the West station in 2021 where local associations organize encounters by citizens, followed-up by the Infrabel Academy and lately the West Parc in 2023 where Toestand activates the future park in a participatory way.
